God owns everything.

How’s your finances?  Are you stressed or discontent?  Do you find you never have enough?

This site is not on how to make money but how to manage your money.  There are many books, seminars and studies on practical ways to manage your finances.  I encourage you to pray about your finances and ask God to help you make managing your finances a priority.  Each week, I will post some practical tips or ways to manage your household.  Creating a budget, tracking your spending and listing a summary of your finances are some of the ways that can help you manage your finances.

Doing these things can be time consuming but taking care of what God has entrusted you with will be your greatest reward.  Most situations are not that we don’t have enough money…it’s that we overspend.  We want, want, and more want until we spend more than we have.  The key is to find contentment in what we have.  I struggle with this at times as I’m sure most of us do.  There are situations where a spouse loses a job or a single mom is raising two kids on a low-income job.  I have experienced that God always opens another door.  The problem is that I may not like that door and try to find my own way.

One principle I try to remind myself is that God owns everything.  I had to memorize the following scripture on several occasions and find by saying it helps keep my perspective on track.

1 Chronicles 29:11-12
Yours, O LORD , is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD , is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all

Thank you for listening.  Check back for Charlotte’s post later in the week!  Dana
